Saving the Niota Train Depot
The train depot in Niota is the oldest standing train depot in the state of Tennessee. The depot was built in 1854 and was used up until 1972. With the building slowly decaying, the town acquired it and has used it for local government offices and various activities. Age has caught up with the old building and many improvements are needed. Mayor Martha Walden and Jack E Webb detail their efforts to save the old train depot from further decay.
